The webmaster is a computer technician who is responsible for church website maintenance and upkeep.  As the webmaster for the Sierra Vista Seventh Day Adventist church, my overall task is to oversee all the technical aspects of the website, content page design, and user interface management.

The webmaster is a member of the audio/visual team.  The team consists of the audio leader, video leader, communications leader, and webmaster.  Each member of the team provides input into the presentation of the church service, programs, and special events. 

The Communications leader serves as a member of the church board and helps to support the interest of other team leaders.  

Webmaster duties:

One of the primary duties is to help church leaders design and create specific ministry content pages for the church website.  The webmaster monitors all web content pages, links, and graphics for smooth operation and accessibility by website guests and members.

Maintenance - The webmaster spends the majority of his time maintaining the website.  Corrections to content pages, new content, posting prayer requests and guest and member account maintenance are but a few of the tasks that are included in the maintenance duties.  The webmaster is also responsible for maintaining the internet connection to the church through its Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Website Design - The webmaster ensures that all website pages are easy to read, easy to navigate, and the layout is pleasing to the eye of the website visitor.  The church website contains a "Contact Us" link for questions or comments on website design or content.  All content pages must fit the scheme of the whole website and not contradict other information presented on the website.

Graphics Design - The webmaster is instrumental in the development and posting of video, audio, and graphical media to the website.  Computer generated images (CGI's) are developed by the webmaster to meet specific church leader's needs.  Graphic development is the primary task of the Assistant webmaster.
